Keene, NH, December 10, 2007 - The Women’s Business Center has nominated Diana Taylor, Top Dog of Pug At The Beach, for the Small Business Administration’s Women in Business Champion of the Year award. The SBA’s Women in Business Champion of the Year is awarded to individuals who have “fulfilled a commitment to the advancement of women’s business ownership.”
Born of Taylor’s own life encounters, Taylor’s belief that “Everyone should feel good about themselves regardless of their life conditions or circumstances” has made her an ardent supporter of women’s rights whether through the mentoring of other women entrepreneurs or through her work at Pug At The Beach, a company dedicated to offering hope and encouragement to all people. It’s through this work at Pug At The Beach that Taylor developed the motto: “I did it! You can, too!”
The Women’s Business Center, is a New Hampshire based non-profit, promoting women’s business ownership as a means to maximize personal potential and achieve economic independence. Established in 1995, the WBC provides: educational programming, advocacy, networking, counseling, and mentorship through a variety of programs.
Loretta Prescott of the WBC says Taylor, “is a great advocate for women in business, having steadily increased her commitment to assisting other women in New Hampshire…” helping “…other women across New Hampshire make connections that aid their businesses, support their efforts and enrich their lives.”
Taylor is a publisher, writer, illustrator, and Top Dog of Pug At The Beach, a locally owned, beach inspired company which provides short, powerful messages of hope and encouragement. Through a combination of illustrations reminiscence of James Thurber and stories decidedly Zen-like in nature, Pug At The Beach, a character driven, multi-faceted enterprise, teaches harmonious living and well being. Taylor is a member of MicroCredit-NH, The Women's Business Center, Monadnock Regional Business Partnership, The Kearsarge Business Network, ArtWorks (a division of MC-NH) and the Dare County Arts Council of North Carolina.
